Moustey is a small authentic rural Landes village 35min south of the Rocade.
Moustey’s fame comes from the two Gothic churches built next to each other located at the 1000km mark from Santiago de Compostela.
Our guided walk led by Alain Mounolou (and assisted by Nigel Bond!) will take in the St Martin’s Church a 12th century building in flamboyant Gothic style with beautiful carved wooden door from the 17th century and right next door the Notre Dame church built in garluche, with picturesque bell tower.
Our walk will pass by a symbol of the pilgrimage to Compostela, a 2-meter wooden pilgrim carved with a chainsaw from a pine trunk felled by the 2009 storm.
We will meet at the Moustey cemetery parking (detailed direction will be sent to walkers) at 14H. The walk will include forest tracks so please have suitable shoes please
