Those who knew Graeme will be sorry to learn that he died on the 12th June. We will remember him particularly for his economic use of words, his dry sense of humour, his pithy comments but also his generosity of spirit, his time and hospitality. He had been ill for some years and kept himself to himself except for his own
immediate family.
We received bulletins from his sister Deborah from time to time. She records that he died peacefully and calmly with her at his side. She asks that all his “Old Chums” be informed of his passing and that they both held good memories about all his comings and goings with the BBC during a very happy
period of his life.
I will add that he was BBC treasurer for some years; the accounts hand-written and beautifully presented, of course! Also he was a keen attendee at golf events.
He never wanted “any fuss” and that was the way he lived his later life and the way he died.
